I bought "Doing Our Own Thing. The Degradation of language and music, and why we should, like, care" for the title alone.
The author, John McWhorther, argues: "To be a modern American is to lack a native love of one's language that is typical of most humans worldwide. I suspect that many Americans reading this do not consider themselves as feeling much of anything about English pro or con--and that is exactly the point."

Hello There:
I was trying to find out about submitting some illustrated flash fiction to Vestal Review. I searched all over the website but couldn't unearth an email contact listing for the life of me. Would you happen to know it? The editor's name is Mark Budman, I think.
Thanks a lot,
PS I detest English, myself, along with all other languages. That's why I dig flash fiction which sort of makes a mockery of language by presenting it with its clothes off and exposing its spare tire, and sagging bosum with a faded tatoo and rusted piercing.
You gave up too fast. The address is here, in plain view. VR does not consider illustrations.
